2.3.1 Prerequisites for Android targets

To run Graphics Analyzer on an Android target device, ensure that the host and target are configured correctly.

Configure your host machine

Install the Android Debug Bridge (ADB), which is available with the Android Software Development Kit (SDK).
Edit the PATH environment variable on the host machine to include the path to the Android SDK platform tools directory.

Configure your device

Connect your target device to a USB port on your host machine.
Enable Developer Mode on the target device.
Enable USB debugging on the target device by selecting Settings > Developer options.
For debuggable applications, follow the instructions in 2.3.2 Preparing to capture debuggable applications.
For non-debuggable applications, follow the instructions in 2.3.3 Preparing to capture non-debuggable applications.

Note:

It is not possible to capture non-debuggable applications on release builds of Android.
